The principle of shepherding

The principle of shepherding relates to the heart condition and posture of those who are sent. We cannot effectively be anything else until we are first shepherds of the flock. I am not writing about positions or titles. I am writing about the motivation of our hearts that cause us to function in our unction as apostles.

Mark 6:34

34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things. NKJV

When Jesus saw the multitudes His heart as a shepherd saw people that lacked leadership that could be equipped and developed.

Matt 9:35-38

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.“NKJV

Jesus’ heart was moved for the multitudes because there was a lack of quality laborers.
